Rock'n roll'n photo blog'n Kyoto style! Whoa, man, having a pretty good time so far.  We've been doing the temple thing.  The photos above are of me in the hotel making these pages, and the other two are from Kyoto's main train station.  Tomorrow I'll put some temple photos up for ya, they're pretty impressive (the temples that is, not the photos) I can tell you.

More later, Karen's in the futon giving me crap for working on the computer, "Oh,well," she said sarcastically, "There goes our romantic evening together."

"But baby," I said, "Cut me some slack,...I'm a blogger now."

I'm sitting on the floor, working on a low table, and Karen's sleeping on a futon beside me.  We're in a little ryokan (inn) in Kyoto, a few minutes walk from the bullet-train station. I noticed that the pay phone in the lobby had a phone jack, so I'm going to try to upload this page. If you're reading this then I've been successful.

I'm not sure what we're going to do here exactly, we've come with Karen's dad Gary and his friend Jean, and since we live in Japan, this whole tour is kind of geared for their benefit.

This whole mobile Internet thing is still blowing me away, and I don't even have a cell phone, I'm just talking about laptops.  I took mine from work with me, and am using it in train stations and hotel lobbies to publish web sites. Too much.  It still blows my mind.  I guess I'll be posting pictures of our stay here as they happen, kind of like CNN without any relevancy.

Thanks to those out there kind enough -- Laura and Fred and Noah -- to check out my site and give some feed back.  I'm going to Kyoto tomorrow with the wife and in-laws.  I should be able to keep posting, but if not, be patient. Like Arnold -- I'll be back.
