It's raining today here in Tokyo. The streets are full of damp and musty blue suits and oversized umbrellas.

As you enter shops and restaurants you might be surprised to find a trash bin full of mysterious clear bags -- long, translucent, and wet. These are what I like to call 'umbrella condoms.'

They're made from that cheap, thin plastic that you put your vegetables in at the supermarket. The idea is that you put them over your folded umbrella as you enter the shop or restaurant and thus stop all that nasty water from dripping off your umbrella and on to the floor.

Pretty considerate, don't you think?

Really busy this week at work. It's always like that after the holidays.

The big site news is that I finally managed to finish the new Baby Jack Gallery. Check it out and you'll find some pictures from recent hunkabutta posts, the pictures from today's post, as well as a few others that you'll only see in the gallery.

Enjoy.

We're at the shiny end of Golden Week, the holidays are winding down, and as usual it's all passed much too quickly.

Tomorrow is our last holiday day and we might go to Narita to visit Bryan and take some pictures of the temple there, but we'll see how we feel.

Karen's going to buy a shopping bike tomorrow as well. She's quite excited about it. I guess it'll add a lot to her mobility.

Next time you hear from me, it'll be coming from the office.

Let's hope tommorow is extra fun.

I'm sad to say that it's a no-go on the air rifle mission. The pigeons are breathing easy tonight. Makis and I tried to buy one in Akihabara but we couldn't find one anywhere. I don't think that they're sold in Japan.

I guess we'll have to think of something else.

The pigeon filth has reached intolerable heights, and I've reached the point where I feel that it's either 'us or them.'

It sounds intense, I know, but don't worry, at least they haven't started talking to me yet...
